Summary: The article illustrates how the spread of inaccurate online news has become a significant issue over the last few years. According to the information, readers should be aware that misleading information can be divided into two types, including misinformation and disinformation (So how can we identify fake news?). It is possible to observe news references that are beyond the realistic in fake news, as well as made-up stories, tabloids, and sloppy journalism. For example, satire and parody can be used to lighten a political scandal. Fake news writers aim to achieve virality and earn revenue from clicks and advertising through their articles. False news affects the health of its readers, especially the person who is mentioned in the fake news story. This is due to the fact that we do not pay sufficient attention to the news we read or watch. Therefore, the most effective way to verify media literacy is to become better knowledgeable about lies and stop fake news.
Reactions: The internet world gives us access to various information quickly and conveniently, opening up a wide world of learning. It is imperative to remember that large amounts of information may not always be accurate, reliable, or useful. Editing images and editing audio to disinformation as well as excessive advertising contribute to this. In addition, being a victim of a scam, being tricked into disclosing personal information and so on. Therefore, after reading the article, I do believe in media literacy. We can easily spot fake news by using critical thinking and paying attention to news content before sharing it with others without being misled.
Questions:
Should media literacy be part of a school's curriculum? (Example: high school, college..)
Would it be possible for social media platforms to automatically notice and delete the fake news account by itself?
How to distinguish news with misinformation and disinformation? (according to those definitions are quite similar).
How to combat fake news brainly?
What to do if the elderly in a family are sharing false or extreme content?

First of all, I would like to give you a compliment on how you made this blog, You created it with a beautiful picture and theme. As well as the thorough information you summarized.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the point that people should be critical thinkers and pay attention to the news before sharing it with others or might be misled by fake information. I also agree that there should be a social literacy class in schools to spread awareness and concerns.
You mentioned about social media platforms that can automatically notice and delete fake news, this is a really interesting point to consider further.
